About
You will be introduced to the concept of Value Chain Development and the process adopted to arrive at a fully developed Value Chain. Then, looking at the opportunities the value chain provides, you will able to choose the extent (horizontal and vertical) to which you want to expand the business to capture value. You will achieve this by analyzing the economic value of the market; based on market opportunity, risk, return, and selecting the more sustainable and profitable parts of the value chain.
Objectives
This course provides skills and knowledge of how to effectively use the value chain concept. You will be able to use the concept in order to map business and market development opportunities. The results will give you the choice to move into more profitable and sustainable businesses and markets, thereby capturing and retaining more value at a local level.
