The key is to plan projects in a way it can be monitored, evaluated and learned from in order to further the cause of development.

Course objectives

The PMEL course covers all the technical areas of Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning within a development sector project. This intensive course provides practical hands on skills in these areas as well as an opportunity to meet and discuss issues regarding PMEL with managers and staff from different projects / areas.

Participants

PMEL managers, senior project management staff, consultants and advisors who are involved in PMEL at a development sector organization.

Course content

Planning

Being able to formulate a Logical Framework is a key technical skill of a PMEL manager. This course will provide you with the knowledge and the technical skills as well as the experience of creating a log frame

Project Monitoring

Having a fully functional monitoring system provides the PMEL manager to set indicators and monitor the progress of the project, learn from mistakes and best practices and benchmark performance, and develop cases for support for resource mobilization.

Project Evaluation & Learning

Learn the importance and types of evaluation at the PMEL manager’s disposal to evaluate, learn and conduct policy influencing activities for new projects
